Indianapolis native Aaren Perry is the recipient of a Writing Fellowship from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. Bilingual and holding an MFA in Writing from Vermont College, Mr. Perry has worked for 20 years as a poet, writer, and cultural activist. Mr. Perry teaches poetry and writing to all ages at schools and colleges throughout the mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and Midwest region. Recently, Aaren was awarded an honorary membership to the Sigma Tau Delta English Honors Society at St. Josephs University.

From 1988 through 2000 Mr. Perry worked as Production Director at Philadelphia’s Painted Bride Art Center; produced and directed PAGE 2 STAGE, a five season poetry show on cable TV; and maintained numerous annual teaching residencies at a number of educational institutions including Whale Camp in New Brunswick, Canada.

Mr. Perry has published in Xconnect Magazine, Blue Guitar, Painted Bride Quarterly, Long Shot Review, Critique Magazine, Mad Poets Review, Tyme Anthology, Philadelphia Poets and other magazines. His work has appeared on NPR and on regional television broadcasts. His books, POETRY ACROSS THE CURRICULUM: An Action Guide for Elementary Teachers (Allyn & Bacon, 1997), OPEN FIRE (Whirlwind Press, 2004) and his spoken word CD, MERCURY CALLING (MelodyVision, 2000) are available at independent bookstores and at Amazon.

Mr. Perry is a Business Development consultant at Team Builders Plus in NJ, where he has produced a TV show on writing, managed multimedia exhibits on nonviolence, delivered multimedia job training programs; and helped develop an online appeals group for a health services corporation. Aaren also helped build and manage teams for fundraising, including a nine hundred thousand dollar campaign, for an international women’s rights organization.
